Ingredients
Sausages (Cumberland, Lincolnshire, or chicken as a variation)
Black pudding (optional)
Back bacon
Eggs (fried, poached, or scrambled)
Baked beans (preferably Heinz)
Bread (for toast or fried bread)
Tomatoes (halved, grilled, or fried)
Mushrooms (brown or white, sautéed in butter or oil)
Hash browns or sautéed potatoes (optional)
Tomato ketchup (optional)
Brown sauce (optional)
Butter or oil (for frying)
Instructions
1. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and start cooking the sausages, turning them occasionally until they are browned and cooked through.
2. In a separate pan, cook the back bacon until it becomes crispy around the edges and fully cooked.
3. While the bacon and sausages are cooking, cut the tomatoes in half and place them cut-side down in another pan or on a grill, cooking until they soften and develop a light char.
4. In a small saucepan, warm the baked beans over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent them from sticking.
5. In another frying pan, melt some butter and sauté the mushrooms until they are soft and golden brown.
6. Fry the bread slices in a little oil or bacon drippings until crispy and golden, or toast them in a toaster if you prefer.
7. Fry the eggs to your preference (sunny side up, over easy, or scrambled) in a pan with some butter or oil.
8. If using black pudding, slice it into rounds and fry for a few minutes on each side until crispy.
9. Arrange all the cooked components on a large plate for a complete and traditional Full English Breakfast experience.
10. Serve hot with optional condiments like tomato ketchup or brown sauce, and enjoy your hearty meal!
Notes
Cook each component individually to achieve the best flavor and texture while ensuring everything is served hot at the same time.
Use high-quality sausages and back bacon for an authentic taste, as the quality of these ingredients makes a big difference in the final dish.
Toast is a great option, but frying the bread in oil or drippings adds extra richness and crunch for a more traditional experience.
