Italian dressing mix (optional)
Salt
Black pepper (optional)
Lemon juice (optional)
Garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
1. Wash and thinly slice the English cucumber.
2. Lightly salt the cucumber slices and let them drain for 10-15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
3. Pat the cucumber slices dry with a paper towel.
4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese with chopped herbs like dill or chives.
5. Optionally, add mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, or black pepper to the cream cheese mixture for extra flavor.
6. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture onto slices of soft white bread.
7. Arrange the cucumber slices evenly over half of the bread slices.
8. Top with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
9. Trim off the crusts for a classic appearance.
10. Cut the sandwiches into triangles, rectangles, or fingers for serving.
11. Cover and refrigerate the sandwiches for at least 30 minutes to help the flavors meld.
12. Serve the cucumber sandwiches chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
For crisp and fresh sandwiches, lightly salt the cucumber slices and let them drain on a paper towel before assembling.
Mix cream cheese with fresh herbs like dill or chives for an added burst of flavor in every bite.
For the best texture, remove the bread crusts and cut the sandwiches into small, elegant shapes before serving.
