Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 1/2 pounds apples (peeled, cored, and sliced or diced into bite-sized pieces, about 6 to 7 cups)
1/2 cup granulated sugar or brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch or all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1-First, preheat your oven to 375Β°F and lightly spray an 8- or 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
2-In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon; whisk until well mixed.
3-Stir in 8 tablespoons melted unsalted butter with a fork until the mixture turns crumbly and forms the perfect topping.
4-In a large bowl, mix 2 1/2 pounds prepared apples with 1/2 cup granulated sugar or brown sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons cornstarch or all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for a flavorful filling.
5-Transfer the apple mixture evenly to the prepared baking dish, then sprinkle the crumble topping over the top.
6-Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving, and enjoy it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra delight.
Notes
π Leave apple peels on for extra texture; wash apples well.
π° Add nuts or chopped pecans to the topping for added crunch.
π― Serve with caramel sauce, whipped cream, or cinnamon sugar for extra indulgence.
