Ingredients
– 8 ounces uncooked penne pasta
– 1 pound ground beef (lean preferred; can substitute ground turkey or chicken)
– 6 strips bacon, diced
– 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) undiluted condensed tomato soup
– 1/2 cup water
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– Optional: barbecue sauce and prepared mustard for serving
Instructions
1-Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
2-In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until no longer pink; drain grease and set aside.
3-In the same skillet, cook bacon until crisp; remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels; discard drippings.
4-Add drained pasta, soup, water, cooked beef, and bacon to the skillet; heat through.
5-Remove from heat; sprinkle with cheese, cover, and let stand for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
6-Serve, optionally with barbecue sauce and mustard.
Notes
π To keep burger meat moist, cook until almost no pink remains, then remove from heat to finish cooking.
πΎ For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free pasta and ensure tomato soup and barbecue sauce are gluten-free.
π₯ Garnish with classic cheeseburger toppings like chopped onions, green peppers, mushrooms, or pickles for extra flavor.
