Ingredients
– 36 crostini rounds
– 1 cup caramelized onions
– 16 ounces brie cheese
– Dried thyme or rosemary (optional)
– Sea salt or kosher salt (optional)
Instructions
1-First, prepare the crostini rounds according to the recipe and store them if made ahead.
2-Cook the caramelized onions if not already done, which can be refrigerated for up to two days for convenience.
3-Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to get ready for baking.
4-Arrange the crostini in a single layer on a silicone baking mat on a cookie sheet for even cooking.
5-Cut the 16 ounces of brie cheese into 1/8-inch-wide strips, leaving the rind on if you like, and place one strip on each crostini.
6-Add about 1/2 tablespoon of caramelized onions on top of each crostini for the right amount of flavor.
7-If the onions lack herbs, sprinkle with dried thyme or rosemary, then bake for 7 to 10 minutes until the brie melts.
8-Finally, remove from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt or kosher salt if desired, then serve immediately for the best taste.
