🧅 Indulge in the rich, sweet flavor of caramelized onions paired with creamy, melty brie on crisp crostini.
🍽️ This elegant yet simple appetizer is perfect for effortless entertaining and impressing your guests.

  • Total Time: 15-25 minutes
  • Yield: 36 crostini

Ingredients

– 36 crostini rounds

– 1 cup caramelized onions (one batch)

– 16 ounces brie cheese

– Dried thyme or dried rosemary (to taste, optional)

– Kosher salt or sea salt (to taste, optional)

Instructions

1-First, prepare the crostini rounds according to their instructions; you can make them up to two days ahead and store them airtight.

2-Next, cook the caramelized onions if you haven’t already; they’re good in the fridge for up to two days.

3-Preheat your oven to 400°F to get everything set for baking.

4-Arrange the crostini on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat for even heating.

5-Slice the brie cheese into 1/8-inch wide strips, keeping the rind on if you like, and cut them just a bit shorter than the crostini.

6-Place one strip of brie on each crostini, then add about 1/2 tablespoon of caramelized onions on top.

7-Sprinkle with dried thyme or rosemary if you want extra herb flavor.

8-Bake in the oven for 7 to 10 minutes until the brie starts to melt and everything looks golden.

9-Once done, remove from the oven and add a touch of kosher salt or sea salt if it needs a flavor boost, then serve right away for the best taste.

Notes

⏳ Prepare crostini rounds and caramelized onions in advance to save time.
🧀 Adjust brie and onion amounts based on crostini size and taste preferences.
🌿 Brie rind is edible; leaving it on adds texture and flavor.
