☕ Chai Scones Homemade with Maple Chai Glaze Recipe offers a warm, spiced treat that’s perfect for cozy mornings or afternoon tea.
🍁 The addition of a sweet and aromatic maple chai glaze enhances the rich flavor, creating a delightful balance of spice and sweetness.

  • Total Time: 30-33 minutes
  • Yield: 8 scones

Ingredients

– 12 tablespoons very cold unsalted butter, diced into cubes

– ½ cup very cold heavy cream

– 2 large eggs, divided

– 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling out scones

– ¼ cup granulated sugar

– 1 tablespoon baking powder

– 1 tablespoon chai spice blend (cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, allspice)

– ½ teaspoon kosher salt

– 1 heaping cup powdered sugar

– 2 teaspoons chai spice blend

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 3 tablespoons heavy cream

– 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup

– Pinch of kosher salt

Instructions

1-Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. This sets the stage for even baking and helps prevent sticking.

2-In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, chai spice blend, and kosher salt to evenly distribute the flavors.

3-Next, cut the very cold unsalted butter into small cubes and work it into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or your fingers. Keep going until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs, which is crucial for that light, flaky texture.

4-Then, stir in the very cold heavy cream and one of the large eggs until the dough just comes together don’t overmix to keep things tender.

5-Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently shape it into a 1-inch thick round. Cut it into 8 wedges and place them on your prepared baking sheet. Pop them in the oven for 15-18 minutes until they’re golden brown. While they bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, chai spice blend, vanilla extract, heavy cream, pure maple syrup, and a pinch of kosher salt for the glaze.

6-Once the scones are out of the oven and cooled a bit, drizzle on that luscious maple chai glaze.
