πŸ§€ Enjoy quick and savory snacks with these cheddar-chive drop biscuits, perfect for any time of day.
🌿 The blend of sharp cheddar and fresh chives offers a deliciously moist and tender texture that’s easy to make without rolling or cutting.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 biscuits

Ingredients

– 2 cups (283g) all-purpose flour

– 2 teaspoons sugar

– 2 teaspoons baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1/2 cup (113g) cold unsalted butter, diced into small cubes

– 1 cup (4 oz) shredded triple cheddar cheese

– 3 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped

– 1 cup (235ml) buttermilk

Instructions

1-Preheat oven to 425Β°F (220Β°C) and line a rimmed 18Γ—13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.

2-In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

3-Using a pastry cutter or fork, cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.

4-Add the shredded cheese and chopped chives; toss to combine.

5-Pour in the buttermilk and mix until the dough just comes together. If it’s too dry, add 1-2 tablespoons more buttermilk.

6-Using a heaping 1/4-cup scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing evenly to make 12 biscuits.

7-Bake for 12-15 minutes or until tops are golden brown, then serve warm.

Notes

πŸ‘ No rolling or cutting required; simply drop the dough onto the baking sheet.
🍽️ Texture is soft, tender, and moist; best served warm for optimal flavor.
πŸ₯› If dough seems dry, add extra buttermilk a tablespoon at a time while mixing.
