🍩 Enjoy a quick and tasty treat with these Easy Churro Bites that bring the classic churro flavor in bite-sized form.
🍴 Perfect for sharing or snacking, they are simple to make and deliciously coated in cinnamon sugar for a sweet finish.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar (divided)

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (plus more for frying – approx. 4 inches deep in pot)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup water

1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

1-First, mix up that cinnamon-sugar blend by whisking 1/2 cup sugar with 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a shallow dish; set it aside for later.

2-Then, in a saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk the remaining 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 cup water until it boils. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in 1 cup all-purpose flour until a dough ball forms it’s like watching magic happen right in the pot.

3-Next, if you want those fun shapes, transfer the dough to a piping bag with a star-shaped tip, though a plain tip works fine too. Heat about 4 inches of vegetable oil in a stockpot to 360°F using a deep-fry thermometer, then pipe the dough into the oil, snipping it into 1/2-inch pieces with scissors. Don’t cram too much in there, or they’ll turn out soggy instead of crispy.

4-Frying and Finishing Touches: Fry the pieces until they’re golden brown all over, which takes just a couple of minutes, then drain them on paper towels for about 2 minutes. Roll the warm bites in that cinnamon-sugar mix for the perfect coating, and repeat the process with the rest of the dough, making sure the oil hits 360°F each time. Finally, serve them warm with dips like chocolate, caramel, or strawberry to elevate your snack game it’s that easy!

Notes

🔪 Use a deep-fry thermometer for consistent oil temperature and even frying.
⭐ A large star-shaped pastry tip (approx. 1/2 inch) gives authentic churro texture; if unavailable, pipe carefully.
🔥 Avoid overcrowding the pot to keep oil hot and prevent soggy bites.
