Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ cups milk (preferably 2%)
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup salted butter, melted
1/2 cup salted butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 cups powdered sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1-Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 4 teaspoons baking powder. This base ensures a fluffy rise.
2-Add wet ingredients: Stir in 1 ½ cups milk, 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup melted salted butter. Mix until smooth no lumps, but don’t overdo it.
3-Prepare the batter: Pour the smooth batter into your greased pan and spread evenly. It’s ready for its swirl star.
4-Make the cinnamon swirl: Beat 1/2 cup softened salted butter, 1 cup light brown sugar, 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon until creamy. Drop spoonfuls over the batter.
5-Swirl magic: Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter, creating those gorgeous ribbons.
6-Bake to perfection: Pop in the oven for 32 to 38 minutes. Test with a toothpick it should come out nearly clean. Ovens vary, so start checking at 32.
7-Cool and glaze: Let it cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes. Whisk 2 cups powdered sugar, 3-4 tablespoons milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for the glaze, then drizzle over top.
Notes
🎂 For best cinnamon flavor, use fresh ground cinnamon.
