2 oz cream cheese, room temperature

2 tablespoons plus 3/4 teaspoon sugar, divided

1/4 cup pumpkin purée (100% pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling)

3/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, divided

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 (8 oz) cans crescent roll dough

1 tablespoon melted butter

2 oz cream cheese, room temperature

1/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted

1/2 tablespoon milk or as needed

Instructions

1-Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, foil, or a silicone mat to avoid any mess.

2-Whip the room temperature cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of the sugar until smooth. Add the pumpkin purée, 1/2 teaspoon of the pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until combined for a creamy filling.

3-Unroll the crescent roll dough. Place about 2 teaspoons of the pumpkin filling onto the wide end of each dough triangle. Spread the filling, leaving a border around the edges to keep it sealed.

4-Roll each crescent tightly from the wide end at a slight angle so the tip ends up centered. Place rolls on the baking sheet with the seam side down and fold the ends to form a crescent shape.

5-Brush each roll generously with melted butter for a golden finish.

6-Mix the remaining pumpkin pie spice (1/4 teaspoon) with the remaining sugar (3/4 teaspoon) and sprinkle this mixture evenly over the rolls for extra flavor.

7-Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffy. Let the rolls cool completely before frosting.

8-For the Frosting: Whisk the room temperature cream cheese, sifted powdered sugar, and milk until smooth. Adjust milk amount as needed for desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled rolls or serve on the side.
