Ingredients
4 tablespoons Butter
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons Flour
2 cups Chicken Broth
1 cube or 1 teaspoon Chicken Bouillon (optional)
1 cup Milk (preferably whole)
1/3 teaspoon Celery Salt
1/3 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/3 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/3 teaspoon Salt
1/3 teaspoon Pepper
Instructions
1-Getting started with this Cream Of Chicken Soup is as easy as rounding up your ingredients and following a few simple steps. First, temper the milk by microwaving it for 45 seconds to ensure it blends smoothly into the soup.
2-Next, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it’s foaming, which takes about 3 minutes, to build a flavorful base.
3-Then, gradually whisk in the flour constantly for 3-5 minutes until the mixture resembles wet sand, and remove it from the heat to prevent burning.
4-After that, whisk in one-third of the chicken broth, followed by another third, and finally the remaining broth, bouillon if you’re using it, the warm milk, and all the seasonings for a well-mixed foundation.
5-Return the pan to medium-high heat and bring it near boiling while whisking constantly until thickened, then remove from heat immediately as it will thicken more as it cools.
6-Optionally, strain the soup for a smoother consistency, making it perfect for any occasion.
Notes
π§ Use bouillon to boost concentrated chicken flavor.
π§ Reduce sodium by using unsalted butter and low-sodium broth or bouillon; adjust salt as needed.
π² Strain the soup to achieve a smooth texture similar to canned soup.
