  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

– 8 slices white sandwich bread with the crusts removed and flattened

– 2 eggs

– 3 tablespoons milk

– 1/3 cup sugar

– 1 heaping teaspoon ground cinnamon

– Butter as needed for cooking

– 1-2 teaspoons of your choice of filling such as softened cream cheese with diced strawberries or Nutella for each slice

Instructions

1-First: remove the crusts from 8 slices of white sandwich bread and flatten each slice with a rolling pin. Spread 1-2 teaspoons of your chosen filling, like softened cream cheese with diced strawberries or Nutella, on each slice, then roll them tightly to seal.

2-Next, in a shallow bowl, whisk together 2 eggs and 3 tablespoons of milk. In another bowl, combine 1/3 cup sugar with 1 heaping teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat and dip each roll in the egg mixture, ensuring a full coating.

3-Cook the rolls seam side down until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side, turning to brown all sides and adding more butter as needed. Once cooked, immediately roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated. Serve warm, optionally with syrup for dipping, and enjoy your tasty treat right away.

Notes

πŸ“ Use a variety of fillings like fruit preserves, peanut butter, or cream cheese mixed with fresh fruit for flavor variety.
πŸ•’ Don’t overfill the bread to prevent the roll-ups from bursting during cooking.
πŸ”₯ Ensure the pan is hot enough before cooking to get a nice golden brown exterior quickly without drying out the bread.
