🍞 Cinnamon French Toast Sticks offer a sweet and crispy breakfast treat that’s fun to dip and easy to make.
🍁 These golden sticks combine cinnamon sugar crunch with a soft interior, perfect for busy mornings or brunch gatherings.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients

– 4 thick slices white bread, preferably stale

– 2 eggs

– 1/4 cup milk

– A pinch of salt

– 1/3 cup white sugar

– 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

– 3 tablespoons butter

– Maple syrup to serve (optional)

Instructions

1-First: remove the crust from each of the 4 thick slices of white bread, then cut each slice into three equal thick sticks.

2-In a large bowl, combine the 2 eggs, 1/4 cup milk, and a pinch of salt to make the mixture.

3-Building the Base: On a plate, mix 1/3 cup white sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder for the coating. This step adds that sweet crunch we love. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large pan over medium-high heat to get ready for cooking.

4-Quickly roll the bread sticks in the egg mixture, shake off any excess, and add them to the hot pan. Cook in two batches, turning to brown all sides until they’re golden. Right after cooking, transfer the hot sticks to the cinnamon sugar mixture and roll them to coat evenly.

5-Finishing Up: Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter and cook the rest of the sticks in the same way. Serve them warm with maple syrup for dipping if you like. This method keeps everything light and crispy, just like in the tips we’ll share later.

Notes

🍞 Use stale bread to prevent sogginess and achieve a crispier texture.
πŸ”ͺ Cut the sticks about 1.7 cm thick for the best balance of crispy outside and soft inside.
🍳 Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding and ensure even browning.
🍁 Roll sticks in cinnamon sugar while hot to adhere the coating better.
πŸ₯„ Store leftover cinnamon sugar for future use.
