🍤 Fried Shrimp Deviled Eggs with Crispy Topping combine creamy, tangy deviled eggs with hot, crispy shrimp for a delightful appetizer.
🍳 This recipe offers a unique twist on classic deviled eggs, perfect for parties or a flavorful snack that impresses guests.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

6 large hard-boiled eggs

1 teaspoon fresh chives, chopped

¼ cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon hot sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Paprika or Old Bay seasoning for garnish

½ pound raw shrimp (small or medium, peeled and deveined, tails off)

2 eggs (whisked)

¼ cup all-purpose flour

1 cup plain panko bread crumbs

½ teaspoon kosher salt or to taste

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Oil for frying (canola, peanut, or vegetable)

½ cup bang bang sauce or more

Instructions

1-Step 1: Boil and Prepare the Eggs Begin by placing the eggs in a pot of cold water and bringing it to a boil. Let them simmer for 10 minutes, then cool them in ice water for easy peeling. Once peeled, slice the eggs in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolks. Mash the yolks with chives, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, salt, and pepper until smooth. Fill the egg whites with this mixture and chill in the fridge for at least one hour to set.

2-Step 2: Season and Fry the Shrimp Pat the shrimp dry and season with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Dredge each shrimp in flour, dip into whisked eggs, and coat with panko bread crumbs for a crispy finish. Heat oil to 350 degrees F in a pan and fry the shrimp for about one minute per side until golden. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil, keeping them light and tasty.

3-Step 3: Assemble and Serve Toss the hot fried shrimp in bang bang sauce for extra zest. Place one shrimp on each chilled deviled egg half and garnish with paprika or Old Bay seasoning. Serve right away to enjoy the contrast of creamy eggs and crunchy shrimp. This method ensures the dish stays fresh and appealing, perfect for quick family dinners.

Notes

⏰ Prepare deviled eggs and bang bang sauce the night before to save time.
🍤 Fry shrimp immediately before serving for maximum crispiness.
🦐 Use small or medium shrimp to keep deviled eggs from becoming too heavy.
