2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast for dough rising and texture

1 teaspoon honey for feeding yeast

4 cups bread flour for dough base

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil for flavor and dough softness

2 teaspoons salt for balancing dough flavor

2 to 3 large garlic cloves

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil for garlic mix

1/8 teaspoon salt for garlic mix

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon each of chopped fresh rosemary and parsley

115 grams melted salted butter

Olive oil for brushing crust edges

vegan cheese

gluten-free dough

reduced-fat cheese

Instructions

1-First Step: Prepare the dough If using classic yeast dough, mix warm water, active dry yeast, and honey. Allow to proof until foamy (about 10 minutes). Add bread flour, olive oil, and salt, then mix and knead into a smooth, elastic dough. Let rise covered for 1½ to 2 hours until doubled in size. Divide dough, let rest 30 minutes before shaping. For no-yeast dough, mix ingredients rapidly as per recipe instructions. For store-bought dough, proceed to shaping.

2-Second Step: Prepare garlic oil mixture Crush or mash 2 to 3 large garlic cloves into a paste. Combine with 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Mix thoroughly to infuse oil with garlic flavor. Optionally blend melted salted butter and chopped herbs for brushing onto pizza base for extra richness.

3-Third Step: Shape the pizza base Lightly dust a surface with semolina or flour. Stretch or roll dough by hand into approximately 8-9 inch circles, preserving air pockets for a light texture. For extra crispness, use perforated pizza pans or stones. For no-yeast dough, brush crust edges with olive oil to prevent drying.

4-Fourth Step: Assemble the pizza Brush garlic-infused olive oil evenly across the dough base, lightly sprinkle with salt. Spread parmesan cheese first, then layer mozzarella cheese evenly, leaving space at edges for the crust. If using garlic butter herb mixture, brush on the dough before cheese application for extra aroma.

5-Fifth Step: Bake the pizza Preheat oven to 250°C (480°F) with a pizza stone if available. Bake the pizza for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese bubbles, melts fully, and crust develops golden brown spots. Turn pizza halfway through for even cooking. Monitor closely to avoid burning, especially for thinner bases.

6-Final Step: Serve and enjoy Remove pizza from the oven and slice immediately to enjoy the cheese at its meltiest. Optionally garnish with fresh herbs or a drizzle of olive oil before serving. For leftovers, follow correct reheating instructions to keep crust crisp and cheese creamy.

Notes

This shrimp dish pairs wonderfully with pasta, rice, or crusty bread. You can also sprinkle some red pepper flakes for a hint of heat.
