Ingredients
– 1 long, slim, fresh French bread baguette
– 6-8 ounces smoked Gouda cheese
– 3/4 cup mayonnaise
– 1 large clove garlic or 2 medium cloves garlic
– A few small sprigs of dill (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1-First, cut the baguette into slices approximately 1/2 inch thick to create the base for your sandwiches.
2-Next, finely grate the smoked Gouda cheese to get that perfect texture for topping.
3-Peel the garlic cloves and grate them finely into the mayonnaise, then stir the mixture thoroughly to combine the flavors.
4-Spread a thin layer of the garlic mayonnaise onto each slice of bread for even coverage.
5-Finely grate additional smoked Gouda cheese over the top of each slice using the smaller holes of a grater, adding a generous pinch to each one.
6-If desired, garnish with small sprigs of dill for a fresh touch that boosts both taste and looks.
Notes
π§ Grating garlic releases more flavor and avoids large pieces in the mayo.
π The bread does not need to be toasted for this recipe.
βοΈ Prepare sandwiches a few hours ahead, refrigerate covered, but avoid making more than 24 hours in advance for best freshness.
