🍳 This Green Chile Ham Quiche delivers a savory and spicy breakfast packed with protein and flavorful ingredients.
🌶️ The combination of ham and green chiles adds a wonderful kick, making it a delicious option to start your day with a warm, satisfying meal.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

– 6 eggs

– 1 cup whole milk

– ⅓ cup whipping or heavy cream

– 4 ounces ham, cut into small cubes

– 3 tablespoons green chiles (mild or hot)

– 4 ounces Swiss cheese, grated

– 3 green onions, sliced

– 1 teaspoon salt

– ½ teaspoon pepper

– 1 unbaked pie crust

Instructions

1-First Steps: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and place the unbaked pie crust on a baking sheet for easy handling. Whisk the 6 eggs until well blended, then mix in 1 teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon pepper to build flavor from the start. Next, add 1 cup whole milk and ⅓ cup whipping or heavy cream, whisking until everything combines smoothly.

2-Mixing and Baking: Stir in the 4 ounces of ham (cut into small cubes), 4 ounces grated Swiss cheese, 3 sliced green onions, and 3 tablespoons green chiles. Pour this mixture into the pie crust and cover the crust edges with foil to avoid over-browning during the initial bake. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C), and continue baking for 30 to 40 minutes until the quiche is set.

3-After baking, let the quiche cool slightly before serving, or refrigerate it for later use.

Notes

🥓 Use thick slices of ham diced into ¼ inch cubes for best texture.
🌶️ Hatch green chiles can be mild or hot; canned green chiles make a convenient alternative.
🛡️ Covering the crust edges during initial baking prevents excessive browning.
