β˜• Wake up to a smooth, bold flavor in this best iced coffee, brewed perfectly at home for a cafe-quality experience without the cost.
🧊 Stay refreshed with this customizable recipe that’s quick to prepare and ideal for hot days or as a pick-me-up anytime.

  • Total Time: 12 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans (medium or dark roast) forms the bold, double-strength base that holds up to ice dilution

– 4 cups cold water brews the concentrate needed for perfect iced coffee brew

– 4 cups ice cubes chills the hot brew quickly without watering it down too much

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar sweetens the simple syrup smoothly

– 1/2 cup water dissolves sugar for grain-free syrup

– 1 cup milk, half-and-half, or heavy cream (optional) adds creamy texture for iced latte style

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) boosts flavor depth

Instructions

1-First Step: Prepare simple syrup. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves fully, about 2 minutes. Stir occasionally. Cool to room temperature. This prevents gritty sweetness in your iced coffee.

2-Second Step: Brew strong coffee. Use 1 cup grounds to 4 cups water in your drip machine, French press, or pour-over. Brew at standard hot temperature (195-205Β°F). Takes 4-6 minutes. Strong ratio ensures bold flavor post-icing.

3-Third Step: Chill the brew. Pour hot coffee into a heatproof pitcher. Stir in 2-4 tablespoons cooled simple syrup while warm. Add vanilla if using. Let sit 5 minutes or fridge-chill 30 minutes to avoid shocking ice.

4-Fourth Step: Assemble over ice. Fill four tall glasses with 1 cup ice each. Pour 1 cup brewed coffee over ice per glass. Top with 1/4 cup milk or cream. Stir gently. Garnish with cinnamon if desired.

5-Final Step: Serve immediately. Enjoy right away for peak chill and taste. Yields crisp iced coffee ready for any time.

6-First Step: Mix grounds and water. In a large jar, stir 1/2 cup coarse grounds with 4 cups cold water. Ratio 1:8 for concentrate.

7-Second Step: Steep in fridge. Cover and refrigerate 12-18 hours. No heat means less acidity.

8-Third Step: Strain twice. Pour through fine sieve, then cheesecloth or filter. Discard grounds.

9-Fourth Step: Dilute and serve. Mix 1 part concentrate with 1 part water or milk over ice. Sweeten to taste.

10-Final Step: Store remainder. Keeps up to 2 weeks chilled. Great for batch prep.

Notes

β˜• For stronger coffee, increase the coffee-to-water ratio or extend steeping time up to 24 hours.
🧊 Use a French press or cheesecloth for easy straining; avoid paper filters for less waste.
❄️ Prepare a batch ahead and store in the fridge for up to 5 days to have ready-to-serve iced coffee anytime.
