🔥 Crispy fried jalapeño slices offer a delicious way to add heat and crunch to your meals or party platters.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

– 3 fresh jalapeño peppers, sliced into rings

– ½ cup all-purpose flour

– ½ teaspoon garlic powder

– ½ teaspoon paprika

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 2 large eggs

– 4 ounces light beer (can substitute fizzy seltzer or clear soda)

– 2 to 3 cups peanut or vegetable oil (enough to cover the battered jalapeño peppers)

Instructions

1-Heat oil in a large pan to medium heat; avoid overheating or smoking to keep it safe and effective.

2-In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create your base mixture.

3-Add eggs and beat them into a batter for a smooth, even coat on the jalapenos.

4-Stir in the beer or your chosen substitute to give the batter that light, airy texture.

5-Dip jalapeno slices into the batter in batches to coat them evenly, ensuring each one is fully covered.

6-Fry the battered jalapeno slices for about 5-6 minutes per batch, turning as needed, until they turn golden and crispy.

7-Drain on paper towels and lightly salt while hot. Serve with ranch or blue cheese dip if desired for an extra treat.

Notes

🍺 Substitute beer with buttermilk, fizzy seltzer, or clear soda for different textures.
🌡️ Oil is ready when a drop of water sizzles immediately; avoid overheating to maintain crispiness.
🚫 Avoid overcrowding the oil to keep temperature consistent during frying.
