Ingredients
4 boneless pork chops (about 5 oz / 140g each, 1/2-inch thick)
3 tablespoons butter alternative spread
1 1/4 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup (60ml) chicken broth
1 teaspoon orange zest
1/4 cup (60ml) fresh orange juice
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons honey
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chopped fresh sage leaves
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste (approx. 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1/4 teaspoon salt)
Grilled tofu for vegan
Dried sage (use half the amount)
Avocado oil for a healthier fat
Instructions
1-Season pork chops liberally with salt and pepper.
2-Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter alternative spread in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3-Add pork chops and cook about 4 minutes per side until cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Remove and cover loosely with foil to rest for 3 minutes.
4-Whisk 1 tablespoon of the chicken broth with the cornstarch until smooth. Stir in the remaining broth, orange juice, lemon juice, and honey.
5-Reduce skillet heat to medium. Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter alternative spread.
6-Add minced garlic and sauté about 20 seconds until lightly golden and fragrant.
7-Whisk the orange juice mixture again and pour it into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
8-Bring the sauce to a boil while whisking constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened.
9-Stir in the orange zest and chopped fresh sage (or rosemary).
10-Return the rested pork chops to the skillet. Spoon the sauce generously over each chop. Serve warm.
Notes
🍳 Pork chops can be cooked in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for about 12 minutes, flipping halfway.
🌿 Fresh rosemary is a great substitute if fresh sage is unavailable.
⏲️ Let pork chops rest after cooking to retain juices and ensure tenderness.
