❤️ Red Velvet Waffles with Cream Cheese Glaze Recipe offers a rich, chocolatey breakfast or dessert experience with a vibrant red hue that’s visually stunning.
🍽️ The creamy glaze complements the soft waffles perfectly, making this a delightful treat for special occasions or everyday indulgence.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 waffles 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 3/4 cups buttermilk

1/3 cup melted and cooled butter

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon white vinegar

2 tablespoons red food coloring (or red beet powder as a natural alternative)

4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature

4 tablespoons butter, softened to room temperature

1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup milk

Instructions

1-Gather and prep: Have all ingredients at room temp. Preheat waffle iron to medium-high, spray with nonstick.

2-Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa, salt.

3-Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, combine buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, vinegar, red food coloring (or beet powder).

4-Combine: Pour wet into dry. Stir gently until just mixed. Lumps are okay for tender waffles.

5-Cook waffles: Pour 1 cup batter per waffle. Cook 3 minutes until deeply red and crisp. Keep warm.

6-Make glaze: Whip softened cream cheese and butter. Gradually add confectioners’ sugar, vanilla, milk until smooth.

7-Serve: Drizzle glaze over warm waffles. Add chopped pecans if you like. Enjoy!

Notes

🌡️ Use room temperature ingredients for a better batter texture.
⏳ Add baking powder to dry ingredients just before cooking to maintain leavening power.
🌱 Use red beet powder as a natural alternative to red food coloring for vibrant color without artificial dyes.
