Ingredients
– 8 lb spiral cut ham
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1 cup pure maple syrup
– 1 cup pineapple juice
– Cooking spray
– Fresh herbs for garnish
Instructions
1-Spray the inside of a large 7-8 quart slow cooker with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
2-Place the 8 lb spiral cut ham cut side down in the slow cooker for even cooking.
3-Rub 1 cup of brown sugar all over the ham to start building that tasty brown sugar glaze.
4-Pour 1 cup of pure maple syrup and 1 cup of pineapple juice over the ham to infuse it with flavor.
5-Cook on low heat for 3-4 hours, checking with a meat thermometer until it reaches 140Β°F (60Β°C) for safety.
6-Transfer the ham to a serving platter once done.
7-Pour the cooking liquid into a medium pan, bring it to a simmer over medium-high heat, and cook for 6-8 minutes until thickened; you can add a cornstarch mixture if you want it thicker.
8-Pour the thickened glaze over the ham and garnish with fresh herbs for a final touch.
Notes
π² Use a large oval slow cooker (7-8 quarts) to fit the ham comfortably.
πΏ Garnish with fresh herbs and fruit slices for an attractive presentation.
π Pineapple juice can be substituted with apple cider for a different flavor profile.
