🍗 Enjoy crispy, flavorful chicken wings with a delicious honey lemon pepper glaze that offers a perfect balance of sweet and tangy.
🍋 This easy recipe provides a zesty twist on classic wings, perfect for gatherings or a tasty meal at home.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 6-8 wings per person as a main dish

Ingredients

– 3 pounds chicken wings separated into flats and drums for the main protein base

– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour to help coat the wings for a crispy texture

– 2 teaspoons baking powder to aid in achieving extra crispy skin

– 1 ½ teaspoons salt to enhance the overall seasoning

– 1 teaspoon paprika to add a subtle smoky flavor to the coating

– ¼ cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled to form the base of the sauce for richness

– ¼ cup honey regular or hot for a spicy kick to bring natural sweetness and stickiness

– 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice to deliver bright acidity for a zesty tang

– 2 teaspoons salt-free lemon pepper seasoning or a homemade blend of 1 tablespoon lemon zest, 2 teaspoons black pepper, and ¼ teaspoon salt to infuse the wings with zesty, peppery notes

Instructions

1-Gathering and Prepping Ingredients: First, preheat your oven to 450°F and get a baking sheet ready with aluminum foil and a wire rack. This setup helps the wings crisp up without needing to flip them. Pat the 3 pounds of chicken wings dry and toss them in a mixture of 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 ½ teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoon paprika for an even coating.

2-Baking the Wings: Arrange the coated wings in a single layer on the wire rack and bake at 450°F for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the heat to 425°F and bake for another 15 minutes to lock in that crispy texture. While the wings are baking, whisk together the sauce by combining ¼ cup melted unsalted butter, ¼ cup honey, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, and 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning.

3-Finishing Touches: Once baked, remove the wings and toss them in the honey lemon sauce before returning them to the wire rack. Bake for an additional 10 minutes until they’re caramelized and reach an internal temperature of 160°F. Let the wings rest for 5 minutes before serving to keep them juicy. For an air fryer option, cook the wings at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway, then add the sauce and air fry for 3-5 more minutes at 400°F.

Notes

🔥 Use baking powder for extra crispy skin without frying.
🍯 Use fresh lemon juice and unsalted butter for best flavor.
🌶️ For a spicy kick, use hot honey or infuse regular honey with red pepper flakes.
