πŸ“ Experience the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and creamy with this Strawberry Pretzel Salad featuring a crunchy pretzel crust and luscious layers.
🍰 Ideal for potlucks and holidays, this make-ahead dessert offers refreshing fruity flavors and a delightful texture contrast.

  • Total Time: 4 hours
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

– 12 tablespoons unsalted butter for the crust, to bind and add moisture

– 1/4 cup sugar for the crust, to enhance sweetness and help with binding

– 2 cups crushed salted pretzels (approximately 4 cups whole pretzels) for the crust, providing the essential salty crunch

– 8 oz cream cheese (softened) for the filling, to create a rich and creamy texture

– 1/2 cup sugar for the filling, to balance the tartness and sweetness

– 8 oz whipped topping (thawed) for the filling, to add lightness and fluffiness

– 6 oz strawberry-flavored gelatin dessert mix for the topping, to set the fruity layer

– 2 cups boiling water for the topping, to dissolve the gelatin properly

– 1 lb fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced) for the topping, to deliver natural sweetness and vibrant flavor

Instructions

1-Dissolve 6 oz strawberry-flavored gelatin dessert mix in 2 cups boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved, then let it cool to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes.

2-Preheat your oven to 350Β°F. Coarsely crush 2 cups of salted pretzels (from about 4 cups whole), melt 12 tablespoons unsalted butter with 1/4 cup sugar, stir in the crushed pretzels, and press the mixture firmly into a 9Γ—13 inch glass baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool completely.

3-Beat 8 oz softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar until fluffy, then gently fold in 8 oz thawed whipped topping until smooth. Spread this evenly over the cooled pretzel crust, making sure to seal the edges to the dish sides, and chill for 30 minutes.

4-Stir 1 lb hulled and sliced fresh strawberries into the cooled gelatin mixture, then gently pour it over the set cream cheese layer.

5-Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours, until the gelatin layer is fully set. The total preparation time is about 4 hours, including prep (20 minutes), cook (10 minutes), and chilling (3 hours 30 minutes).

Notes

πŸ§‚ Crush pretzels coarsely to retain a crunchy texture in the crust.
πŸ§€ Soften cream cheese thoroughly before beating for a smooth filling.
πŸ“ Spread cream cheese filling completely to the edges to prevent gelatin from seeping through.
