🥐 Tear and Share Sausage Rolls are a fun and easy snack perfect for parties, allowing guests to enjoy bite-sized savory treats.
🍴 This recipe pairs flaky puff pastry with flavorful pork sausages, making a convenient and crowd-pleasing appetizer or snack.

  • Total Time: 33 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 22 small rolls

Ingredients

– 320 g ready-rolled puff pastry

– 5 thick pork sausages

– 1 egg, lightly beaten for egg wash

Instructions

1-Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) fan and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

2-Remove the sausage casings and unroll the pastry.

3-Cut the pastry lengthwise into two long strips.

4-Lay two and a half sausages along the center of each pastry strip, stretching the sausages slightly if needed.

5-Brush the top edges of each pastry strip with egg wash, then roll tightly from the bottom, sealing the pastry with egg wash.

6-Turn the rolls seam-side down and press the seams shut with a fork.

7-Arrange the rolls on the tray in a spiral or ring shape, sealing the ends with egg wash if forming a ring.

8-Make cuts from the outside edge towards the center to create small sausage roll sections, without cutting all the way through.

9-Twist each section 90 degrees so the sausage faces upward.

10-Brush all visible pastry with egg wash.

11-Bake for 18 25 minutes until golden brown.

12-Let cool slightly, then serve warm or cold. Optionally decorate with rosemary or vegetables and serve with condiments like ketchup and mustard.

Notes

🌭 Use raw, flexible sausages for easier shaping.
⏲ Prepare ahead and serve cold or reheat at 180°C (375°F) for 10-15 minutes.
🧀 Customize by adding chopped jalapeños or parmesan for extra flavor.
