Ingredients
– ¾ cup (90 grams) flour
– ⅔ cup (65 grams) cocoa powder
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– ¼ teaspoon salt
– 2 large eggs at room temperature
– 1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar
– ⅓ cup (78 ml) vegetable oil
– ½ cup (120 ml) milk, whole or 2%, at room temperature
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 1 cup chocolate frosting
– 12 mini peanut butter cups, unwrapped
– 24 small candy eyes
– 6 pieces of orange candy cut in half for beaks
– 12 red gummy worms for the wattle
– 20 pieces candy corn (10 per turkey for tail decoration)
Instructions
1-Preheat oven: to 350°F (180°C).
2-In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
3-In another bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, oil, milk, and vanilla extract.
4-Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated without overmixing.
5-Fill cupcake liners three-quarters full and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6-Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
7-Spread a thin layer of chocolate frosting on each cupcake.
8-Decorate each cupcake to resemble a turkey by placing a mini peanut butter cup as the head, attaching candy eyes, using halved orange candy as the beak, red gummy worms as wattles, and arranging candy corn pieces for the tail. Use small amounts of frosting to secure the decorations.
Notes
🍰 Mix the batter only until no dry spots remain to keep cupcakes light and fluffy.
❄️ Ensure cupcakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
🍬 Use a toothpick to apply frosting as glue for precise placement of small decorations.
