πŸ— Have fun making these Turkey Leg Treats that look festive and are perfect for Thanksgiving or any kid-friendly gathering.
πŸŽ‰ These savory-inspired sweet treats are easy to prepare and bring a creative twist to holiday desserts everyone will enjoy.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 12 turkey legs

Ingredients

– 6 pretzel rods

– 12 ounces (about 1 cup) white candy melts or vanilla baking chips

– 10 ounces mini marshmallows

– 8 cups cocoa-flavored puffed rice cereal

– 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

1-First: break the pretzel rods in half and melt the white candy melts in short intervals in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth. This step sets the base for your treats.

2-Next: dip the smooth end of each pretzel rod in the melted candy, then press two mini marshmallows onto the end to form the “bone” part, and set them aside for about 5 minutes to firm up.

3-Then, dip the pretzel rods again, covering about two-thirds of their length, and let that coating set.

4-For the next part, in a saucepan, melt the butter and the remaining mini marshmallows, stirring until smooth, then remove from heat and mix in the cocoa-flavored puffed rice cereal until it’s fully coated.

5-Let explore stir-fry techniques that might inspire your mixing, as similar methods work here.

6-Once the mixture cools slightly so it holds its shape, spray your hands with nonstick cooking spray to avoid sticking. Mold the mixture around each pretzel rod into a drumstick shape.

7-Finally, place the shaped treats on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and let them cool at room temperature until hardened, which takes about 15 minutes remember to avoid the fridge to keep the pretzels crisp.

Notes

🍴 Shape the legs only when the mixture is cool enough to avoid mess.
🀲 Spray hands frequently with cooking spray to prevent sticking while molding.
⏳ Serve the treats the same day for the best texture and flavor.
