Ingredients

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 to 2/3 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

1-Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, whisk or mix melted butter with both sugars until combined.

2-Add vanilla extract and egg: Add vanilla extract and egg, mixing until just combined.

3-Whisk dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt.

4-Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until just combined to avoid over mixing.

5-Fold in chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips.

6-Line cookie sheet and scoop dough: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and scoop 12 equal portions of dough onto it.

7-Bake and cool: Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the tops are soft and edges start to turn golden brown. Allow cookies to cool for at least 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
